The Future of Jazz Orchestra brings to life the original compositions of Erik Larsen, vibrant works that blend swing, minimalism, and rich harmonic color. Influenced by jazz greats like Thad Jones, Joe Henderson, and Duke Ellington, Larsen’s music highlights the full range of the ensemble while offering space for standout solo moments. It’s a dynamic celebration of big band tradition and forward-thinking creativity.

This concert features the incredible music from her albums – a combination of classic jazz repertoire and her original songs. This concert will have you tapping your feet, dancing in the aisles, and leaving with a smile!

Featuring music direction by JLCO pianist Dan Nimmer, Journey Through Jazz: Part VII captures the energy and charm of combo swing music from the late 1920s to mid-’40s, spotlighting works from Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Jazz at the Philharmonic. Part of the Lynne and Richard Pasculano Jazz Series.
